I must disagree there, many railway lines exist in the world that carry six tracks of trains at once. In Sydney, Australia there is 6 tracks all the way from Sydney to Strathield- Up/Down Main, Up/Down Suburban, Up/Down Local.

Oh, I should've been clearer: the fussiness is why I can't handwave it as "oh they don't bother with leap years"- that would be unacceptable to them. But because I am not great with maths, working out a precise leap year system felt a bit terrifying...

I'm sorry to resurrect this question, but does this mean that you would make two one-way wormholes next to each other, rather than a single two-way wormhole?
