Question Analogue Encryption, without converting to digital
Hello! I am thinking about analogue mobile telephones, but they have some severe flaws- the most significant being privacy. How could an analogue system be encrypted? It doesn't need to be completely secure, but something that would make eavesdropping nearly impossible except with very complicate...

Comment Post #288236 I must disagree there, many railway lines exist in the world that carry six tracks of trains at once. In Sydney, Australia there is 6 tracks all the way from Sydney to Strathield- Up/Down Main, Up/Down Suburban, Up/Down Local. And given the size of this city, the traffic across this bridge would b...

Question Determining a Practical Bridge Design for a Wide River and Heavy Traffic
Hello everyone, I am thinking yet again about infrastructure. (my calendar project recently asked about... well, that's outside my expertise, I'll get back to that eventually) And I am thinking of the limits of just how much a bridge can do. So, some backstory. This main bridge (along with 2 ot...

Question Could there be a way for a solar system to be very precise, so that the lunar calendar and solar calendar align?
I know that this is a bit silly, but I want to make a calendar for my world and I'm really worried about having to do leap years and such to ensure continuing accuracy. Inaccuracy isn't an option; many worlds could simply have a calendar that gradually gets out of line, but the people in this wor...

Comment Post #276856 I'm sorry to resurrect this question, but does this mean that you would make two one-way wormholes next to each other, rather than a single two-way wormhole? This is very helpful for me if true! I've been struggling to work out how wormholes can work without allowing time travel (an interestin...
