Good point. But I don't know that we can reverse engineer the device: for now, most computing gains still come from cheap transistors getting smaller and smaller, so we could see "wow those are some really tiny transistors" but that gives no clue how to make machines that create the tiny transistors.... If a stem cell goes cancerous it doesn't seem crazy that the host might grow lots of arms or ears. I'm not sure how to manage the transmission of *only* the stem cell, and not daughters. And, in this scenario, there is no real distributed cooperation among the cancer cells... most instructions still ... (more) |
