Differentiate Codidact from all the shameless StackExchange clones.

My anecdote:

I joined StackOverflow 15 years ago, as a working programmer who had hard questions, and it was a big help. Later, I spent a lot of time answering questions for fun, out of boredom, to get internet points.

Over the past 15 years I've seen Google search results fill up with other websites that are literally clones of StackOverflow, many of them shamelessly scraping the content of StackOverflow.

**I learned early to tune out all the clones**. I didn't want to reward copycat behavior, and I generally don't trust copycats. Probably I saw Codidact in there somewhere, but I can't be sure, because I tuned them out.

I only wound up here because over the years I gleaned a tiny fragment of the dark underbelly of the StackExchange network, primarily through the "Reinstate Monica" movement. So as time has passed, I've felt worse about contributing to a site owned by a for-profit company that I know is untrustworthy. Then I saw _your_ farewell post on Meta.SE and it dawned on me that Codidact isn't another shameless clone, but rather the thing built by the disaffected SE users who I sympathized with and have been turning into myself.

I joined Bluesky right away because I knew from the start that it was the Twitter replacement people built after Elon Musk turned Twitter into a Nazi beer hall. I would have joined Codidact right away if I knew it was the SE replacement built after SE Inc took off its mask.
