Can my anthropomorphic Porcupine tattoo her rhinarium neon pink?

I've looked into the usual structure of typical animal rhinarium (hairless nose skin with nodules), and it looks possible?

But my concern is that the tattoo gun would hit the dermal papilla containing lots of nerves:

I'm also unsure of how it would look, and if there would be good colour coverage?
